The only MotoGP™ race in Germany took place at the beginning of July at the Sachsenring in Hohenstein-Ernstthal and became a top event not just because of the record number of visitors!
For the 27th time, the best drivers took the honors on the Saxon mountain and valley railway and offered the fans breathtaking motorsport. A total of 252,826 visitors came to the 3.7 km long Sachsenring on three days of the event and experienced exciting races and an attractive supporting program.
The Red Bull racing circus and the historical motorcycle exhibition once again thrilled visitors, as did the popular Dekra Ferris wheel and a new, dedicated “MotoGP Hero Walk”.
A highlight in the historical motorcycle exhibition was the MZ RE125, built by Dieter Teßmann in 1971, with which H. Janusch won the ID race at the Sachsenring in 1977. The motorbike has been completely restored and is now presented in the original colors by the current owner Dietmar Matthess from Olbernhau, sponsored by the Central German Trademark Association NARVA e.V.
The Liqui Moly Motorcycle Grand Prix Germany at the Sachsenring is always one of the largest sporting events in Germany, and as a motorsport event it is also supported by the ADAC.
